Frequently Asked Questions

What are your fees?

If you have never worked with me before, then your first step is taking my Activate Your Life programme. This is a ten-week programme and the first session is free with no commitment to continue (nor any guarantee you will be offered a place on the programme).

Value-Based Pricing

How much is it worth to you to be free of self-doubt, anxiety and stress? To know who you are in your heart and have the courage to live your life in line with your deepest held values?

When I ask my clients this question they say "priceless".

This is why I use a method called value-based pricing to set my fees for this programme.

This means together we work out a price that is good value for me and good value for you. In simple terms, this means that you tell me how much you are willing to pay for your coaching.

The fee should be large enough to motivate you to take action but also affordable. It should give you a little bit of anxiety when you think of your number.

Your figure is unique to you, your life circumstances and your income.

This is due upfront before the coaching starts.

After we have completed the programme, you will move on to my ongoing client fee of €125 per session.

What happens during the coaching programme?

During the coaching we meet regularly to discuss your progress. These sessions last up to 1 hour 15 minutes. After each session you'll be set questions and exercises to complete.

Some exercises consist of a daily practice lasting up to 15 mnutes a day.

How long should I get life coaching for?

Every client is different, but the minimum amount of time to work with me is ten weeks doing my Activate Your Life foundation programme.

After that I recommend that we work for another six months helping you develop patterns to overcome your limiting beliefs. Sessions are reduced to once every two or three weeks.

On average it will take you about 12 to 18 months to overcome your unhelpful behaviours and break your unhelpful patterns. The 21 day habit formation is a popular psychology myth.

Do you guarantee results?

Yes!

But only if you put in the work and effort to change your behaviour. Changing your life takes work and deadication.

Acceptance and Commitment Training works because it is an empirically-supported model with almost 200 RCTs (randomized controlled trials) on ACT. RCTs are the gold standard of psychological research. Most of the RCTs on ACT  are listed here: https://contextualscience.org/ACT_Randomized_Controlled_Trials

There’s a very high chance my program will make you happier, focussed and productive, as long as you actively apply the principles I teach you.

It will give you the tools and techniques you need to build a richer and more fulfilling life, to effectively handle the inevitable unhelpful feelings that life brings, and to enhance pleasure, joy and satisfaction in everyday living.

But this programme is just the start to your journey you may have to take some difficult decisions and come to some unpleasant realisations during the programme. As one of my clients said

"be aware, he does not offer a cure, but a path to an improved life that will take more work after the course to truly bear fruit."

Don't worry I'll be there to help and support you during the programme and afterwards as you undertake your journey.

I'm currently seeing a therapist can I still be coached by you?

Although my programme is based on a model of therapy, a model used in clinical psychotherapy,  the program itself is not specifically designed as a treatment for depression or other clinical disorders.

The principles and tools of the programme can however be used very successfully in conjunction with therapy.

If you are seeing a therapist, I recommend you ask them to take a look at what the programme involves and ask them whether they think the programme is right for you.

I have successfully worked with people who are seeing a therapist, and after the foundation programme, they felt able to end therapy and just continue with coaching.

How does the online coaching work?

I use a video conferencing tool called Zoom. You'll need to download the client before the session starts. You'll be sent a link for each meeting. Please ensure you are in a quiet location with a good internet connection.

Online coaching has a lot of benefits. You can be coached from the comfort of your home or private office. And you don't need to waste time travelling to your session.

How often do we meet?

For the initial ten-week programme I normally suggest that we meet every week. Once you've completed the programme and if you want to continue working with me we meet at a frequency that is good for you.

What's the difference between life coaching and therapy?

Life coaching is about moving forward and creating the life that you want. Whereas therapy is about looking in depth at your past trauma and helping you with clinical mental illness. If you want to know more read - is life coaching right for me?
